Managing Anger: Your own and those around you
with Heather Regan-Addis
Five Thursday Evenings 19.00-21.00pm
Thursday 27th March – Thursday 24th April 2025
Do you find yourself becoming angry, irritated or frustrated by the people or world around you? Or maybe you are sharing your life with colleagues, family or friends who are angry, irritated or frustrated? If so, this five-session course led by Heather Regan-Addis on Wednesday evenings may be of benefit to you.
On this course we will be exploring the processes by which anger arises within us and is then projected onto others or onto ourselves through a process of blame. This causes suffering for ourselves and for those around us. We will practice ways to manage our own anger using mindfulness and kindness meditation approaches. The aim is to find more skilful ways to express our boundaries and needs in a mature and less reactive way.
Exploring our own anger can provide us with insight and understanding of the anger that those around us are experiencing. Seeing the suffering that people are causing by their own anger, both for themselves and for those around them, can be a doorway to compassion. We will explore how to hold boundaries and not take onto ourselves the anger from those around us. In this process we will be navigating the balance between self-compassion with compassion for others.
The aim of the course is to provide a toolbox of techniques and practices that you can use to navigate anger, your own and those around you, more skilfully in your life.
