Do you find yourself becoming anxious about insecurities in your life, about your family, friends or work or about the state of the world? If so, this five session course led by Heather Regan-Addis on Tuesday evenings may be of benefit to you.
On this course we will be exploring the processes through which anxiety arises within us and is elaborated by our habits of thinking and how this causes needless suffering in our lives. We will practice mindfulness meditation techniques to help us become more familiar with the thoughts, emotions and sensations that make up an experience of anxiety.
We will be using techniques of compassionate imagery to build qualities such as strength, courage and stability to help us to face our fears and will also explore a range of physiological techniques to sooth anxiety when it arises. Finally, we will look at the processes in the mind which lead us to buy in to the anxious stories we tell ourselves, and which make an arising anxious thought into a lived reality.
The aim of the course is to provide a tool box of techniques and practices that you can use to navigate anxiety more skilfully in your life.
This course runs weekly from Tuesday 2nd September to Tuesday 30th September 2025, from 19.00-21.00pm.
